Department/Year: English Linguistics, 3rd Grade Areas of Interest: Semantics, Metaphors, Language Philosophy, Philosophy, Poetry and Metal Music Biography: Hello everyone! My name is Semih. I am a 20 years old undergraduate student from Hacettepe University. I am more interested in what they call ‘’armchair linguistics’’. My interest in philosophy and human mind has led me to wander around theoretical areas of language, and question how it becomes an organ between outer world (nature) and the mind. Therefore, my current study is about metaphors and how to link them to the human consciousness. I am eager to explore more about this field. I also firmly believe that one cannot approach to the field of linguistics without a multidisciplinary perspective. That is the reason I love having readings of variety of fields.
