Dear Readers, Academics, Students, and Friends,

Welcome to the official website of the Hacettepe University Linguistics Community!

Since our founding in 2009, we have been dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where linguistic inquiry and exploration flourish. With this new online platform, we are excited to start fresh chapter in our mission to make linguistics an accessible, appreciated field—not only here at Hacettepe but on a national and international scale.

Our goals are simple yet ambitious: to create a hub where students can share their insights with a broader audience, encouraging them to publish, create, and delve deeper into the science of language. Here, we aim to provide resources, highlight the voices of emerging linguists, and spark discussions that bring the wonders of linguistics into the spotlight.

Sevgili Okuyucularımız, Akademisyenler, Öğrenciler ve Dostlarımız,

Hacettepe Üniversitesi Dilbilim Topluluğu’nun resmî web sitesine hoş geldiniz!

2009 yılındaki kuruluşumuzdan bu yana, dilbilimsel araştırma ve keşiflerin yeşerdiği kapsayıcı bir ortam yaratmaya kendimizi adadık. Bu yeni çevrimiçi platform ile birlikte, dilbilimin yalnızca Hacettepe’de değil, ulusal ve uluslararası düzeyde daha erişilebilir ve takdir gören bir alan olmasını sağlama misyonumuzda yeni bir sayfa açmanın heyecanını yaşıyoruz.

Hedeflerimiz basit ama iddialı: Hacettepe Üniversitesi öğrencilerinin düşüncelerini daha geniş kitlelere ulaştırabilecekleri bir merkez oluşturmak; onları dilbilim üzerine yayın yapmaya, üretmeye ve derinlemesine araştırmaya teşvik etmek. Bu platformda, kaynaklar sunmayı, genç dilbilimcilerin fikirlerini ön plana çıkarmayı ve dilbilimi var eden tartışmalara ilham vermeyi amaçlıyoruz.

Bu yolculukta bize katıldığınız için teşekkür ederiz. Dilin dünyasını birlikte keşfetmeyi sabırsızlıkla bekliyoruz.

    My name is Çağan /t͡ʃɑˈan/. I am currently majoring in Linguistics at Hacettepe University, Türkiye, and working as a research intern at the AU-BRC laboratories. My academic interests mainly revolve around the intersection of linguistics, cognitive science, and computer science. My research focuses on phonetics and phonology, vowel harmony, computational methods for language processing, and statistical analysis techniques. I conduct most of my work in laboratory environments using empirical methods. I am a strong advocate for open science and open-source development, and I actively create tools and applications to support and streamline linguistic research. Outside of academia, I enjoy traveling, fishing, photography, coding, wearing colorful shirts, and playing the guitar. You can visit my personal website here: alicagankaya.com
